The phone is now selling at a starting price of Rs 14,999, which is Rs 3,000 less than its original launch price. This price is for the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage version. The phone with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will also be sold at the e-commerce site with a new price of Rs 17,999. In this case, the price cut is lower Rs 2000 as the phone was launched at a price of Rs 19,999.
Lenovo had launched Z2 Plus, which is also known as the ZUK Z2 in the international market, a few months ago. Although the phone has very good hardware, it hasn’t been able to impress consumers all that much. For a popular phone, Z2 Plus has a rating of less than 3.5 points on Amazon, which is not all that great considering the fact that more popular devices have ratings of over 4 points.
This could be one of the reasons why Lenovo has slashed the prices. Although, now at its said price the Z2 Plus becomes the first sub-Rs 15,000 phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which is the same one that powers devices like the OnePlus 3, Xiaomi Mi 5, HTC 10 and the LG G5. The Z2 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen with 1080P display, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 3500 mAh battery, a metal frame and a 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone also has, as noted earlier, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
“Starting today (16 January 12 noon), the Lenovo Z2 Plus (3GB + 32GB) variant will be available on Flipkart and Amazon.in in black and white color variants at INR 14,999. Additionally, 4GB & 64 GB variant will also be available for purchase across leading retail stores,” Lenovo noted in a statement.
