Vivo is set to unveil a new NEX smartphone soon. The phone has appeared in a couple of leaks, showing off its most important feature – dual screens. Currently referred to as the Vivo NEX 2, Vivo has now opened registration for those interested in the device and the registration page reveals a few key features of the phone.
The Vivo NEX 2 will come five core technologies according to their website:
- An industry-first appearance – while the NEX 2 is far from being the first dual-screen phone in the world, Vivo claims its design is different from what we have seen before.
- New operating experience – it appears Vivo has developed a new version of its OS that has been tailored for dual-screen phones. We are really curious to see these features the OS brings.
- New camera experience – the NEX 2 is also being advertised as bringing a new way to use the cameras on a phone. From the video teasers on the page, the NEX 2 will have three cameras which will all be on the rear.
- New AI – the phone is also said to come with new AI features.
- NEX 2 will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner, making it the first dual-screen phone with one.
Vivo Nex 2 Specifications-
Kumamoto Technology has shared a new leaked photo that shows that the upcoming Vivo NEX Dual Screen smartphone will be the company’s first phone to arrive with 10 GB of RAM. The leaked image also reveals that the Vivo NEX Dual Screen will feature 128 GB of internal storage.
The below shown leaked image seems to reveal the text from the press release for the launch event of the upcoming Vivo NEX Dual Screen phone launch. It states that the company had launched the Vivo NEX in June as the world’s first smartphone with full screen (notch-less) display. In pursuit of providing groundbreaking technologies through its NEX series, Vivo will be launching the Vivo NEX Dual Screen smartphone on Dec. 11 through an unveil event in Shanghai U+ Fashion Art Center.
The Vivo NEX Dual Screen could be a flagship phone driven by Snapdragon 845 chipset. Could it be featuring the upcoming 7nm Snapdragon chipset? The answer will be confirmed at the launch event of the Vivo NEX Dual Screen. As far as the features of phone are concerned, it will be equipped with a rear-mounted triple camera setup, a RGB-lit Lunar Ring for notifications and an in-screen fingerprint reader.
Based on the recent reports, it can be assumed that the above GIF images hint that the Vivo NEX Dual Screen will be equipped with three exciting features such as dual displays, triple rear cameras and Lunar Ring. However, there is no information available on the sizes of the dual screens and configurations of the triple cameras. It is speculated that the third lens will be a ToF 3D camera sensor. And the Lunar Ring will be an eye-catching RGB-lit LED circle that may glow for notifications.
However, the rest of the specs of the phone are under the wraps. As far as selfie camera is concerned, it is unlikely to feature a pop-up front camera since the cameras present on the rear could be used for capturing selfies. The rear display will act as a viewfinder while shooting selfie shots.
The handset has been recently teased in an unboxing video. Today, a Chinese video blogger has shared a new video which teases the alleged NEX 2 smartphone once again.

The alleged Vivo NEX 2 shows that it is equipped an in-screen fingerprint reader. The phone also features a triple camera setup on the rear, but it is not clearly shown in the video. The major attraction of the phone is that it equipped with a secondary display on its rear panel.
The RGB-lit Lunar Ring that is placed on the rear side of the phone is also visible in the video. The vlogger has done his best to reveal some of the key features of the phone while keeping it secret.
Popular designer and industry expert had recently shared the following renders of the alleged Vivo NEX 2 smartphone. The front view of the phone reveals that it does not feature a selfie camera. Hence, the smartphone is equipped with a large-sized display that seems to offer more than 95 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The renders show that the secondary display of the phone is smaller compared to the main screen on the front. The Vivo brand name is placed on the bezel below the secondary screen. The RGB-lit Lunar Ring, an LED flash and camera sensors are placed above the display.

Vivo NEX 2 should launch on Dec. 11 through an unveil event in Shanghai U+ Fashion Art Center and interested buyers will be able to pre-order it starting from December 11 up until January 6.
